The Impact of Banking Governance on Achieving Competitive Advantage in Jordanian Commercial Banks

Résumé

The study aimed to reveal the impact of banking governance (with dimensions of transparency, accountability, integrity, justice, and disclosure) on achieving competitive advantage in Jordanian commercial banks, by identifying the level of governance application and its various dimensions, and the level of competitive advantage in Jordanian commercial banks. To achieve the study objectives, the study used the descriptive analytical approach using the questionnaire as a data collection tool. The governance scale and the competitive advantage scale were prepared and developed, and their validity and reliability were extracted. They were distributed to a sample of (330) male and female employees working in senior and middle management in commercial banks in Jordan. They were selected randomly. The statistical analysis program (SPSS. V, 26) was used. The study results showed that the level of banking governance and its dimensions (disclosure, transparency, accountability, integrity, justice, and participation) was high, and the level of competitive advantage in its dimensions (price competitive advantage and non-price competitive advantage) was high. The study results also showed a positive impact of banking governance in its dimensions on competitive advantage.
