Modern schools of economic thought and their impact on the growth of the economies of developing countries (case study: Iraq and Jordan)

Résumé

The research dealt with the theoretical framework, cognitive foundations and literature related to modern schools of economic thought and the growth of the economies of developing countries, as well as to determine the nature of the relationship between them. The research aims to present and analyze the ideas proposed according to the neoclassical school to demonstrate the possibility of achieving growth in the economies of developing countries by focusing on the amount of production elements available in society such as labor, land, natural resources, capital, organization and technology. The research also studied the ideas proposed according to the neoclassical and institutional schools to demonstrate the possibility of achieving growth in the economies of developing countries by focusing on reducing interest rates and government investment in infrastructure. The current study was applied in a sample of developing Arab countries, namely Iraq and Jordan.

The study concluded that there is a statistically significant effect between modern schools of economic thought and the growth of the economies of developing countries, as there is a statistically significant effect between the neoclassical school and the growth of the economies of developing countries, and there is a statistically significant effect between the institutional school and the growth of the economies of developing countries.
