The Impact of Good Governance Principles on Achieving Sustainable Development in the Palestinian Public Sector

Résumé

The study aimed to identify the role of good governance principles in achieving sustainable development in the Palestinian public sector. Therefore, the study was based on the descriptive analytical approach, and the questionnaire was used to collect data from the study community, which consisted of (420) workers in (14) Palestinian ministries and institutions related to the challenges of good governance and sustainable development in Palestine. The data from these questionnaires were processed through SPSS (28) and Smart-Pls (3.9) programs. The study came out with several results, the most important of which is that good governance has a direct, moderate relationship with achieving sustainable development, as well as all its dimensions, and that good governance explains the variance in achieving sustainable development by no less than (25.0%). The study proposed several recommendations, the most important of which are: enhancing the application of good governance principles to support the achievement of sustainable development by establishing a unified national framework for governance and developing comprehensive policies based on good governance principles, developing monitoring and evaluation systems and designing performance indicators concerned with measuring the effects of good governance on sustainable development, implementing training programs for government sector employees to enhance understanding of good governance principles and their effective application, and adopting modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and data management, which would enhance and encourage administrative innovation towards optimal exploitation of resources.
