The Impact of Open Banking APIs On Financial Performance in Iraqi Ministry of Finance Institutions

Résumé

This study investigates the impact of open banking APIs on the financial performance of selected departments within the Iraqi Ministry of Finance, with a particular focus on their role in enhancing revenues and reducing expenditures. Employing a descriptive-analytical methodology, data were collected via a structured questionnaire aimed at evaluating the influence of various modern financial technologies, including open APIs. The study sample consisted of 213 employees from departments such as the General Tax Authority and the Accounting Department, selected through stratified random sampling to ensure representative coverage.

Findings indicate that the implementation of open APIs significantly improves operational efficiency, boosts revenue generation, and lowers costs—collectively contributing to enhanced financial performance. The study recommends the adoption of supportive policies for the integration of these technologies, the provision of employee training programs, and the development of robust digital infrastructure across financial institutions.
